Tips: It’s best to visit on a clear day. Arrive about 30 minutes before sunset — there’s no need to get there too early. After sunset, wait for about 30 minutes to experience the fascinating transformation of the city as it shifts from light to dark and back to light. You’ll find Beijing truly beautiful. Also, due to the tower’s height, it can get windy, so be sure to dress warmly.

How to Get to CCTV Tower from Downtown Beijing

The nearest subway stations to the CCTV Tower are about a 20-25 minute walk away, so we recommend taking a ride-hailing service directly to the tower.

Subway

From downtown Beijing, take Line 10 of the Beijing Subway and get off at Xidiaoyutai Station. Exit at Southeast Exit C and walk for about 20 minutes to the CCTV Tower. Alternatively, take Line 1 and get off at Gongzhufen Station. Exit at Northwest Exit A and walk about 25 minutes to the CCTV Tower.

Taxi/Ride-Hailing Service

From downtown Beijing, taking a taxi or ride-hailing service to the CCTV Tower takes about 35 minutes and costs around 30 RMB.
