What are the best areas to stay in Fuzhou?

The hot spots of Fuzhou’s urban area are concentrated in three regions: Sanfang Qixiang, Shangxiahang Historical and Cultural Street, and Gushan. These major scenic areas are accessible by metro, making it the best accommodation choice for independent travelers in Fuzhou. Although Fuzhou Changle International Airport does not have a direct metro connection to the city center, you can take an airport bus to the city first, and then choose the metro or a taxi to reach your hotel. Typically, tourists spend 2-3 days in the Fuzhou city area, and if planning to visit Pingtan Island, they stay an additional 1-2 days on the island without changing hotels in the city, switching to a different hotel when heading to Pingtan Island.

• Near Dongjie Kou Metro Station, this area is the central hub of Fuzhou, right outside are various shopping malls and food streets, with Sanfang Qixiang also located here. From here, it is very convenient to travel by metro to Shangxiahang Historical and Cultural Street and Gushan.
• Pingtan Island, if you are visiting Pingtan Island, you will definitely stay on the island, recommended hotels are in Pingtan County Town and near Longfengtou Beach. Although you could choose to stay in guesthouses in Tannan Bay, Houyan Island, and Beigang Village, their services and facilities may not be as reliable.
