I’m Alex Chen, a China-based traveler who prefers independent trips and keeps a close eye on the budget. Instead of chasing every viral attraction, I care more about whether a place is actually worth the money and how much time it really deserves. This guide looks at POPMART City Park in Beijing from that exact angle. I’ll break down who this park is best for, whether it’s worth visiting, and how to explore it without wasting time or cash. If you’re mainly here for photos, LABUBU interactions, or a quick stop on your itinerary, this article will help you travel smarter.

Most areas of the park have been open since April 30, 2026, so whether you want to take photos or enjoy the new IP-themed attractions, visiting POPMART City Park is highly recommended.

Is POPMART City Park worth visiting?

If you’re a fan of designer toys or want to experience a “different” kind of urban leisure park, POPMART City Park is worth considering. The park centers around POPMART’s classic characters such as Molly and Labubu, and is divided into themed areas including POP Street, Adventure Forest, Lakeside Zone, and Molly’s Castle. The environment is cute and dreamy, and the interactive installations and performances are very photo-friendly and immersive.

Its charm lies in blending designer toy IP features with a relaxed urban leisure experience. Both fans and casual visitors can stroll through the park, take photos, join mini-games, browse trendy stores, and even grab a light meal. This “small urban park” vibe offers a pleasant, easygoing experience, especially for those who love POPMART characters, enjoy taking photos, or are looking for light leisure activities.

However, unlike traditional large theme parks, the rides here are light-interactive. The park is best suited for those who enjoy designer toy culture and are visiting with friends or family to seek a relaxed atmosphere and photo opportunities.

Top Things to Do in POPMART City Park

Bubble Street

As soon as you enter the park, Bubble Street is the first thing you’ll notice. The colors feel bold and almost exaggerated, setting the tone right away. Large installations of classic IPs like MOLLY and LABUBU line both sides of the street, so you step straight into the designer toy world from the entrance. This area has the highest concentration of photo spots in the entire park. Whether you want portraits, group photos, or wide shots of the atmosphere, it all works well here. If you want fewer people in your shots, it’s best to start here right after entering and explore the rest of the park afterward.

MOLLY Castle

MOLLY Castle is the heart of POPMART City Park and the place that deserves the most time. It looks great from the outside, but the interior has even more to explore.

  • 1F: Designer Toy Collection & Blind Box Store. You’ll find park-exclusive blind boxes that aren’t sold elsewhere. The full wall of hidden-edition displays feels surprisingly impressive.
  • 2F casual dining and 3F full-service dining: MOLLY Banquet Hall and the dessert shop. If you visit during your birthday month, head to the visitor center at the entrance to join the lottery. With a birthday card, you can get a small cake on the second floor.
  • B1F: Wish Journey. This is a small immersive theater with a show about every 10 minutes. In winter, it’s especially comfortable to stay inside and enjoy the light and projection effects.
  • Tips: At every hour and half hour, MOLLY Castle releases a large number of bubbles. With the castle as a backdrop, photos look dreamy and surprisingly romantic.

Lakeside Area & DIMOO Dessert Exploration Boat

The lakeside area feels open and relaxed. On clear days, the sunlight hits the lake at an angle around 3 or 4 p.m., creating beautiful reflections that are perfect for casual photos. The DIMOO Dessert Exploration Boat is docked on the water, and you can board it to enjoy desserts or simply take photos. Even if you don’t spend any money, standing by the lake and watching the boats is a pleasant break, especially after walking around for a while.

A big part of POPMART City Park is watching performances. Many visitors miss them because of time planning, so here’s a recommended route that combines timing and sightseeing:

  • Enter the park around 12:30 p.m. and pick up a park passport at the visitor center. At 1:00 p.m., watch the Elf Warrior Training Camp performance. If you want to interact with LABUBU, line up early. After the show, follow Bubble Street and collect stamps at two locations: behind the green gift box and to the right of Bear Meow Craze.
  • Continue to the castle area and stamp at the MOLLY Castle zone on the left side. Then enter the Wish Journey immersive show. After the performance, collect another stamp at the exit.
  • After leaving Wish Journey, you’ll be inside the castle. Finish shopping, then head to the left side outside the dessert shop at the castle’s back door to find the next stamp. You may also catch the 2:15 p.m. dessert shop meet-and-greet. The characters vary by time slot, so it depends on luck.
  • Exit from the front of the castle and go to the Hug Garden on the right side to collect another stamp. After that, you can watch the Star People meet-and-greet starting at 2:30 p.m. The stage is right in front of the castle. If you want interaction, arrive early since spots are limited.
  • If you miss the 1:00 p.m. Elf Warrior Training Camp, there is another show at 4:30 p.m. Interaction still requires lining up in advance.

  • LABUBU Food Exploration Boat: A boat-shaped restaurant by the lake, offering light meals, snacks, and drinks.
  • Desserts & Coffee: Several food carts and cafés sell IP-themed ice cream and special drinks that look cute and photo-friendly.

There aren’t many other major attractions near POP MART City Amusement Park, and thanks to Beijing’s extensive subway network, it’s often better to stay near a central subway station elsewhere in the city. We recommend staying near Zhushikou Station, located at the intersection of Lines 7 and 8 — a very central location. From here, you can walk to Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, Qianmen, and the Forbidden City. Line 7 provides direct access to Beijing Universal Studios and Beijing West Railway Station, while Line 8 connects you to the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, National Museum of Natural History, Wangfujing, Nanluoguxiang, Shichahai, Drum Tower, National Stadium (Bird’s Nest), and Water Cube. Most trips to POP MART City Amusement Park and other popular attractions require only one subway transfer. For a more detailed guide, see Beijing Hotel Recommendations.
