I highly recommend taking the metro first. Tianjin Airport sits fairly close to the city center, so the metro usually doesn’t take much longer than a taxi, and it costs far less. If you arrive late at night, the airport shuttle bus works better. If you decide to take a car, I strongly suggest using a ride-hailing app instead of regular taxis. Taxi experiences in Tianjin can feel inconsistent, and some drivers may take longer routes or add extra charges.
